January 2022Newtown Florist Club – Black Business Directory, 2nd edition  The directory was created to help local Black businesses network with each other and with the community. Greater Together covered the cost of printing.

April 2022 – Educational Foundation and Museum of Beulah Rucker Inc. – Spring Break Art Camp – Campers creative activities included a visit to the Quinlan where 20 students learned about famous Black artists and got to create some art of their own. Greater Together covered art supplies, refreshments, and instructors.

September 2022 – Viva El Arte!  Hispanic Heritage Art Display  and Workshop – Hall County Library and Northeast Georgia Latino Artists Coalition/Hispanic Alliance. Six local Latino artists submitted their works to be shown at the Library Gallery wall during September and October.


Atlanta artists Catalina Gomez Beuth and Marvin Toledo, members of Contrapunto Latin American Artists Coalition spent the afternoon with 12 local artists. They presented a study of their works and discussed the steps necessary to grow from an amateur to professional artist. An informal gathering followed. Greater Together covered cost of supplies for hanging and honorariums for the Atlanta artists.

November 2022Community Thanksgiving Feed – M and M Down Home Catering – Greater Together helped support the 10th Annual Community Thanksgiving Feed. Meals of grilled chicken, dressing, vegetables, and desserts were distributed to homeless camps, homeless families in long term stay hotels, Salvation Army, Gateway, Good News at Noon, My Sister’s Place, the Gainesville Police Department, Gainesville Fire stations, shut-ins, and the elderly. Officially, 1,230 individuals were fed. 35 volunteers worked to prepare, box, and deliver these meals. Additionally, another 200 (approximate) individuals either did not register for meals, walked up and requested meals from the distribution point or asked those who were grilling, for chicken directly from the grills. Some of the supplies (chicken, milk, butter, desserts, and bread) for the meal were donated.  Greater Together received donations earmarked for the Thanksgiving meal and used that money to cover costs for the meal.

December 2022 – M and M Down Home Catering fed 570 individuals a meal of vegetable soup, cornbread and dessert. Individuals served were in homeless camps, Salvation Army, Gateway My Sister’s Place.  Twenty-two volunteers prepared and delivered these meals.

March 2023 – Bright Youth United for the Future _- Newtown Florist Club

(BYU). Bright Youth is a co-ed youth development initiative serving boys and girls 6-12 years of age in Gainesville-Hall County. The program is designed to help support the academic, physical, recreational, cultural, health and wellness needs of children in the community.

Today our goals are to create safe spaces for children and youth to come together, build relationships, learn team building skills, the importance of volunteering, a healthy respect for community service and to simply have fun.

The Greater Together Fund has provided funding for programming , program T-shirts, to help provide meals both during meetings and when the group travels, and to cover expenses for materials and/or supplies needed for community service projects.

For funding, send a letter of request, outlining the proposed project, and a projected budget request. Requests should conform to the purpose and goals of the Greater Together Fund.
